Sortly lets you create QR Code and Barcode labels for any item in your inventory. Choose your paper size, label size, and which details to include, then download a ready-to-print PDF.
Labels print on standard self-adhesive (Avery) sheets using a regular printer, or on single-label and thermal printers for individual labels.

Create Labels on the Web
Select an item and click Create Label:

1You will be taken to the label setup steps to pick paper, size, and attributes.

2Select paper size.
Sortly will recommend the correct Avery label sheet based on your paper and label size selections. You can purchase blank pre-cut label sheets through Amazon using the link provided.

3Select label size.

4Select any item details you want to include.
You can include notes, price, tags, total value, or a custom field. Only one attribute can be selected at this time.

5If supported, add a photo to your label.

6If supported, include your company logo or an icon.

7Add custom notes to the label (independent of item details).

8Click Next once you have selected your attributes.

9Select your Printing Options.
- Label quantity: Print multiples of the same label.
- Label start position: Start from a specific position on a partially used sheet to reduce waste.
- Printing Instructions: Choose whether to include an instruction sheet in the PDF.
- Send copy to email: Recommended so you have the PDF saved for future reprints.
Click Create Label and a PDF will be generated and downloaded for printing on your standard printer.
Create Labels on the Mobile App

1Select one or more items.
- Single item: Tap the three dots to the right of the item.
- Multiple items: Long press one item, then tap additional items to select them.

2Tap Create Labels.

3Choose your label type, paper size, and label size.
Select QR Label or Barcode Label (Ultra, Premium, and Enterprise plans only), then pick your paper and label size.

4Tap Next and add item details and logo (if supported).
You can include notes, price, tags, total value, or a custom field. Only one attribute can be selected at this time. A logo or icon can be added if the label size supports it.

5Select your Printing Options.
- Label quantity: Print multiples of the same label.
- Label start position: Start from a specific position on a partially used sheet to reduce waste.
- Printing Instructions: Choose whether to include an instruction sheet in the PDF.
- Send copy to email: Recommended for easy reprinting later.

6Tap Generate.
You will be prompted to open the PDF directly or check your email for the file.

Follow the same steps as above, but select Label Printer as the paper size.

Create QR and Barcode Labels in Bulk
You can generate labels for multiple items at once from a folder or using Advanced Search.
Printing Item Labels from a Folder (Web)

1Navigate to the folder and select the items.
Click the checkmark on each item, or choose All from the Bulk Edit Bar.

2Click Create Label from the Bulk Edit Bar.

3Follow the prompts to choose the label type, paper type, and label size.

4A PDF will be generated. Send it to the printer of your choice.
Printing Item Labels from a Folder (Mobile)

1Navigate to the folder and long press the items you want to print.

2Tap the three dots in the upper right and choose Create Labels.

3Choose your label size, label details, and print details.

4Tap Generate, then open the PDF on your device or from your email to send to a printer.
Printing Item Labels from Several Folders (Web)

1Go to Advanced Search, apply any filters, and select the items.
Click the checkmark on each item, or choose All from the Bulk Edit Bar.

2Click the three dots on the far right of the Bulk Edit Bar and choose Create Label.

3Follow the prompts to choose label type, paper type, and label size.

4Print directly to your printer.
Reprinting Existing Labels
When reprinting existing labels, the QR code or Barcode itself will not change, but you can adjust the label size, information, and add custom notes.
Navigate to the item and click the Printer icon:
