Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between deleting an item and deleting stock?
Deleting an item removes it from your catalog entirely. Deleting stock removes the item's quantity from one location, and the item stays in your catalog.
Can I restore an item after I delete it?
No. Once an item is deleted, it cannot be recovered or restored. Sortly shows a warning before you delete an item, so confirm you are deleting the right item first.
What happens if I delete an item that is on a job?
The item stays on the job as a disabled row, and the quantity already used is kept as the record. Its required quantity is cleared, so it no longer counts as short. This applies to every job that has the item, including completed jobs.
Will I be warned before I delete an item that is on an open job?
Yes. Sortly shows a heads-up message before you delete the item. When you confirm, the reserved units are released from those jobs and the item is deleted.
