User Roles Overview

A user role is the level of access a person has in your Sortly account. It decides which locations they can see, what they can change, and whether they can manage users, billing, and settings. Not everyone on your team needs the same access, so Sortly offers these roles:

Team Members can edit items by default in the locations they are assigned, unless you give them View Only access to a location. For a Custom Role, editing items depends on the choices you make for the role.

💡 Custom Roles are only available on Premium and Enterprise plans. If you want more control over what a user can do, check out the article Create a Custom Role and Manage Permissions.

Limited Access

Limited Access is designed for staff who scan, move items, and update quantities without needing full access to Sortly.

⚠️ Available only on Enterprise plans and must be enabled by your Customer Success Manager. It's billed at a lower cost than full-access seats.
