How to 'Check Out' or Move Items Using Sortly

Sortly makes it easy to move items between locations, whether manually or by scanning a barcode or QR code. Move items directly in the web or mobile app, or use Quick Actions to scan a label and move an item instantly.

Moving One Item

  1. 1Click the move icon on the item
  2. 2Select the quantity to be moved, specify the reason for the move, and choose the destination folder for the item β€” or create a new folder

Moving Multiple Items in One Folder

Moving items in bulk can significantly streamline your workflow, saving time and effort when managing large quantities of data or physical objects. This process involves selecting multiple items, specifying the desired quantity, providing a reason for the move, and designating a destination folder or location.

  1. 1Start by selecting the items you want to move. Click the checkbox in the upper left of each item to activate the Bulk Edit bar and click Move
  2. 2Select the quantity to be moved, specify the reason for the move, and choose the destination folder for the items β€” or create a new folder

Moving Multiple Items in Different Folders

  1. 1Head to Advanced Search and choose your criteria for the search and click Apply Filters
  2. 2Select the items you want to move. Click the checkbox in the upper left of each item to activate the Bulk Edit bar and click Move.
  3. 3Select the quantity to be moved, specify the reason for the move, and choose the destination folder for the items β€” or create a new folder.

Mobile

In this example, we will move items from our Available Inventory to one of our Store folders.

  1. 1From the Available Inventory folder, click on the scanner icon at the top right
  2. 2Choose a saved Move to Folder option or create a new Quick Action
  3. 3Scan the code of the item you want to move/check out, and it will automatically go to the folder you chose.
