Quick Actions on the Sortly Mobile App

Quick Actions let you update inventory directly from the Sortly mobile app by scanning item barcodes or QR codes. After you scan, you can instantly perform common tasks—like adjusting quantities, moving items, adding tags, cloning, editing, or deleting—making high-volume inventory work faster and easier while you’re on the go.

Types of Quick Actions

  • Quick Quantity - Add quantity, subtract quantity, set quantity, edit quantity
  • Quick Move  - Instantly move an item to any folder (Acts like a check-in/out scanner)
  • Quick Tags - Add tag, Remove tag, Set tag
  • Clone - Duplicate item
  • Edit - Open edit screen
  • Delete - Delete item

How to Set a Quick Action

  1. From the Items Tab, Click the scanner icon in the top right

  2. Choose a Quick Action from the available options

  3. Once you choose an action, the scanner will activate and you can perform the action 

  4. If you need to add a new action, you can click the + sign and add additional quick actions. Then swipe between the actions at the bottom of the screen. 

  5. To exit the Quick Actions screen, click the X in the upper left corner

 

Scanner Settings

  • Quantity: Use a quick scan to move multiple items at once by selecting the quantity, saving time and effort. For example, scan a QR code once for 5 identical chairs instead of scanning each chair separately.
  • Confirm All Updates: Choose whether to receive a confirmation popup before finalizing updates. Toggle this option for a seamless experience, with an option to see the item instead of a direct confirmation screen. 
  • Enable Bluetooth Scanning: Exclusively available for Ultra, Premium, and Enterprise users, this feature facilitates seamless integration between Sortly and third-party scanners. Enable this setting to utilize your scanner alongside the mobile app.
  • Enable Sound: Activate this option to receive an audible beep each time an item is successfully scanned via the mobile app.
  • Vibrate: Opt for device vibration upon successful scans by enabling this setting

 

FAQ

How do I make sure I scanned the correct item when using Quick Actions?

Turn on Confirm All Updates in Scanner Settings. With this setting enabled, Sortly shows a confirmation popup after each scan so you can review the item before the Quick Action is finalized. If it’s off, updates apply immediately.
