Stay on top of what matters in your inventory by choosing how Sortly lets you and your team know. Email alerts are sent for [quantity thresholds](https://help.sortly.com/quantity-alerts?hsLang=en) and [date-based reminders](https://help.sortly.com/date-based-alerts?hsLang=en). You can send them to: - Yourself - All Owners, Admins, or Team Members - Specific users in your Sortly account ⚠️ Alerts can only be sent to users already in your Sortly workspace. #### Set up an email alert 1 Open the item's Edit screen. 2 Select the bell icon next to the Quantity or Date field. 3 Set the conditions and choose your recipients. 💡 For folders, select the three dots next to the folder, then select Set Alert. Folders support date-based alerts only. --- ### In-app and push notifications Want to see alerts without opening your email? You can stay informed inside Sortly or on your phone. - On the web: check the Alerts section on your dashboard. - On mobile: allow notifications for Sortly in your device settings. #### Allow push notifications on your phone 1 Open your phone's Settings, then select Notifications. 2 Find Sortly and select Allow Notifications. --- ### Slack integration Prefer to keep your team in the loop in Slack? Sortly can send real-time notifications to a public Slack channel when items are created, edited, moved, or deleted. ⚠️ You can only link one Slack channel at a time, and it must be public. Slack notifications are limited to item events. #### Set up the Slack integration 1 In Sortly, go to Settings \> Integrations \> Slack. 2 Select Connect and authorize Sortly in your Slack workspace. 3 Choose a public channel and choose which actions should trigger notifications. 4 In Slack, add the Sortly app to that channel (Slack \> Channel \> Integrations). --- ### Microsoft Teams integration Prefer Microsoft Teams? Sortly can send real-time notifications to a Teams channel when items are created, edited, moved, or deleted. ⚠️ Teams notifications are limited to item events. Available on Ultra, Premium, and Enterprise plans. #### Set up the Microsoft Teams integration 1 In Sortly, go to Settings \> Integrations \> Microsoft Teams. 2 Select Connect, then sign in to your Microsoft Teams account. 3 Authorize Sortly to access your Teams workspace. 4 Choose the Teams channel where you'd like to receive alerts. 5 Choose which item actions should trigger notifications. --- ### Webhooks (API-based alerts) Already use Sortly's API? You can configure webhooks to trigger external notifications when items are created, updated, moved, or deleted. ⚠️ Webhooks are available on Enterprise plans only and are limited to item events. --- ### Frequently Asked Questions Can I be notified about invoices or purchase orders? No. Alerts currently only apply to items and folders, not documents like invoices or POs. Can I send alerts to people who aren't in my Sortly account? No. Notifications can only be sent to users who are already part of your Sortly workspace. Can I customize my alerts (e.g., frequency, formatting, or channels)? Not at this time. However, we're always listening. Feel free to submit feedback in the app under Product News. Is there a way to stop receiving email alerts? Email alerts can't be stopped from Sortly directly, but you can manage them with your email settings. Most email providers let you create filters or rules that automatically move these messages to a folder, mark them as read, or archive them.
